Shimano Deore HG 11-Speed Cassette, 11-42T or 11-51T
An 11-speed mountain bike cassette with HYPERGLIDE technology and two cog ranges.
The Shimano Deore HG 11-speed cassette (CS-M5100-11) suits mountain bike drivetrains with one or two chainrings. Its progressive gearing helps you control your cadence on varied off-road terrain.
HYPERGLIDE technology arranges ramps and tooth profiles to ease the chain’s movement from one cog to the next. Indexed shifting is smoother, more precise and faster.
Two versions are available: a wide 11-51T range and a tighter-spaced 11-42T range. Each cassette has 11 steel cogs mounted on an aluminum spider (the part that holds the cogs together).
Key features
- HYPERGLIDE technology (ramps and tooth profiles) → smooth, precise shifting on any terrain
- 11 speeds → an 11-speed mountain bike drivetrain
- 11-51T version → a wide gear range
- 11-42T version → tighter gear spacing
- Progressive gearing → good cadence control on varied courses
- For one- or two-chainring drivetrains → fits several setups
