Hope Tech 4 V4 Hydraulic Disc Brake, One-Piece V4 Caliper

A hydraulic disc brake that combines a light lever action, a rigid caliper and tool-free adjustments.

The Hope Tech 4 V4 hydraulic disc brake builds on more than 25 years of Hope’s experience designing and manufacturing hydraulic brake systems. New internal sealing reduces friction.

The lever pivot runs on roller bearings, which allows a lower spring rate: the lever action is lighter and rider fatigue is reduced, while keeping the brand’s feel and modulation (how progressively the braking power builds).

The rigid, CNC-machined one-piece V4 caliper uses hybrid-style stainless steel pistons with a phenolic insert for smoother movement, less maintenance and good heat management in extreme use. Bite point and reach are adjustable without tools.

The brake is supplied with new racing compound pads. The V4 caliper is not compatible with all direct-mount 180 mm forks, nor with the 2021 Commencal Supreme DH frame’s 200 mm direct postmount. Hope recommends the correct mount and a 200 mm rotor.
