About

Le Pédalier is a bicycle and winter sports shop located in Wendake , operating since 1985. Over the decades, Le Pédalier has become a landmark for enthusiasts, families, weekend warriors, and seasoned athletes alike. Not just because you can find equipment there, but above all because you'll find people there who understand what you experience on the trails.

Here, we like to talk about routes, sensations, comfort, safety, and enjoyment on the slopes or on the road. And above all, we like to take the time to do things properly.

If you are looking for where to buy a bike in Quebec City , or simply a reliable place to get advice, adjustments and support, our answer has remained the same since 1985: come to the store, discuss your needs, and build together a solution that truly suits you.

A local story, driven by passion

Le Pédalier is a local business , built on proximity and consistency. Our story is written with those who return season after season: for a new bike, a tune-up, a question of position, maintenance before the first rides, or to prepare winter equipment when the mountain is covered in snow.

From the very beginning, the same idea has guided us: to offer an honest and human experience . We don't push a product just to make a sale; instead, we seek what truly meets your needs, your skill level, your budget, and your training style. This is what builds trust, and this is what makes a store a benchmark.

Our approach to advising: listen before you recommend

Choosing a bicycle or sports equipment isn't always easy. There are different ranges, technologies, models, and subtle differences . Our role is to clarify, simplify, and guide you.

The idea is not to drown you in jargon, but to give you the right information to make a choice that will stay with you for a long time.

This advisory service is a signature of Le Pédalier . It is aimed as much at the person who wants to discover cycling as at the person who is looking for a fine adjustment to improve their posture, reduce fatigue, gain control or ride more efficiently.

  • The workshop: attention to detail, the difference on the ground

A bike can look great on paper, but be disappointing if it's not properly prepared. That's why we place real value on the work of our in-store technicians . Assembling a bike isn't a simple routine step; it's a precision job where every adjustment counts. Our technicians take the time to meticulously prepare, optimize, and check each bike, ensuring it's reliable, safe, and enjoyable from the very first ride.

This attention to detail extends to our maintenance and repair services. Proper tuning, regular maintenance , and timely adjustments can extend the life of your equipment, enhance your experience, and prevent problems that can ruin an outing. Whether you come in for a quick check-up or a more comprehensive service, you can expect a professional, transparent, and solution-oriented approach.

  • A bike tailored to the individual: fitting and adjustments in store

Another essential element of our approach is adapting the bike to the rider . Two people can ride the same model and have a completely different experience, simply because of their position. Saddle height, forward lean, handlebar width, lever angle, reach—these are details that make all the difference.

At Le Pédalier, we prioritize fitting and adjustments made with the customer in-store. We take the time to properly position you, checking your comfort, stability, and control. The goal isn't just to fit into the correct measurements , but to help you find a realistic, comfortable, and efficient position for your riding style. It's an investment of time that will pay off on the road, on the trails, and over the long term.

  • A four-season shop: cycling and winter sports

Quebec lives to the rhythm of the seasons, and so do we. Le Pédalier accompanies your outdoor life in both summer and winter. When the snow arrives, the passion moves to the mountains: downhill skiing , snowboarding , snowshoeing . As with cycling, we rely on the same approach: well-chosen equipment , well-prepared and adapted to your skill level.

For winter equipment, we offer maintenance services such as hot waxing, sharpening and preparation of equipment, as well as binding installation. Proper maintenance improves glide, grip and safety, and makes a day on the slopes much more enjoyable.

Come and meet us

Le Pédalier is a shop, yes, but above all, it's a team . If you're looking for a bike, if you want to improve your comfort , if you need a proper service, or if you're getting ready for your ski season, come see us. We'll take the time to understand your needs, advise you properly , and offer you a suitable solution.

The fun often starts before the ride: it begins when the equipment is well chosen, well assembled, and well adjusted. That's exactly where Le Pédalier makes the difference.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm looking for a bike shop in Quebec City: how do I know if Le Pédalier is right for me?

If you want advice tailored to your riding style, to compare options without pressure, and to leave with a bike that's well-suited to your terrain and frequency of use, the shop is a good place to start. The goal is to guide you towards a durable and suitable choice.

What is the difference between choosing the right size and having the bike adjusted?

Size refers to the frame that best suits your overall body shape. Fit encompasses everything that makes the bike truly comfortable and efficient once you're on it: position, support, control, and feel. It's often the fit that makes the bike "just right."

What should I bring to the store for more precise advice or adjustments?

If you already have cycling shoes, a helmet, or even your old bike, this information can help us better understand your habits, comfort points, and areas for improvement. If you use clipless pedals, mentioning the cleat model is also relevant.

I don't know exactly what type of bike suits me: how can you help me decide?

We start with your reality: where you ride, how often, on what terrain, with what goal and budget. From there, we can clarify the most logical type of bike and the elements that really matter to you (comfort, stability, performance, versatility).

Is Le Pédalier just a bike shop?

No. The shop is also a go-to for winter sports. If you cycle in the summer and enjoy the mountains in the winter, that's the advantage of having a single, reliable place: tailored advice and carefully prepared equipment, whatever the season.
